Our Story

A local coffee idea
with room to grow.

2020

Blue Rose begins

A small team opened Blue Rose Coffee in downtown Parkersburg around a simple belief: the region deserved genuinely excellent coffee. They partnered with an award-winning Colorado roaster, sourced thoughtfully, and developed an on-demand roasting and local packaging program.

Next

The name changes. The standard stays.

When Blue Rose disbanded, Jonathan Defibaugh carried the coffee operation forward as Defibaugh Brewing Company. DBC preserved what worked while opening the idea to a much broader future.

Today

Small, active, and proven

DBC continues to wholesale coffee to St. Joseph Coffee and serve a small number of K-Cup clients. The current operation is intentionally limited, but the supply model has already worked—and customers responded to it.

Future

An Appalachian house of quality

The vision combines wholesale distribution, direct coffee sales, a destination tasting experience, and a curated provisions line. It is built to scale without losing the care that made the original idea matter.

The promise

Bring something better home.

No inflated mythology. No anonymous bulk program. Just remarkable products, chosen with care and served like a neighbor.
